Ground Transportation

In general, it costs much less to pre-book a minicab than it does to get a taxi when you arrive. Here are recommended routes from each airport to Aubrey Park:

London Luton: cab direct from the airport (15 minutes).

London Gatwick: Thameslink train to St Albans City station (1 hour), then cab (10 minutes)

London Heathrow: Elizabeth Line to Farringdon or Piccadilly Line to Kings Cross St Pancras (40-55 min), then Thameslink train to St Albans City (25 min), then cab (10 minutes). Another option is National Express Bus 788 or 707 to Hemel Hempstead Bridge Street (40-60 min), then cab (15 min).

London City: Docklands Light Railway (DLR) to Woolwich Arsenal (5 min), then either Thameslink to St Albans City (70 min) [but this is only an occasional service], or Elizabeth Line to Farringdon (15 min), then Thameslink to St Albans City (25 min), then cab (10 min).

London Stansted: Stansted Express train to London Liverpool Street (50 min), then Metropolitan, Circle or Hammersmith & City Line to Farringdon (5 min), then Thameslink to St Albans (25 min), then cab (10 min); or Stansted Express to Tottenham Hale (35 min), then Victoria Line to Euston (15 min), then West Midlands train to Hemel Hempstead (35 min); or National Express bus to Hatfield Cavendish Way (65 min), then cab (20 min).

We recommend people use Google maps in real time, as it is quite good at keeping information up to date.
